BETTER ORIENTATION ON ARRIVAL

For families who have to visit a hospital with their children, a welcoming atmosphere and clear orientation upon arrival are especially important. This is the focus of the redesign of the entrance hall at the Altonaer Kinderkrankenhaus, which will also improve the admission process.

The entrance and waiting area is currently being reorganized to provide parents, patients and staff with better orientation, clearer circulation and more space in the waiting area. The information point, reception desk, team leader’s office and waiting area are being arranged so that visitors can quickly find the right point of contact while staff maintain a clear overview of the entrance area.

In addition, the forecourt at the entrance from Grünebergstraße is being redesigned. Between the recently completed parking structure—also supervised by our team—with its brick and green façade, and the new entrance to the lobby, a small public space with seating and additional greenery is being created.

Construction is being carried out in several phases while the hospital remains fully operational. Temporary structures ensure that a weather-protected entrance is maintained throughout the building process.

Once completed, families and young patients will benefit from clearer points of orientation, shorter walking distances and a more spacious waiting area.
